Next! + Crossroads (virtual) with William Isaac’s Pre-Election Voting Contemporary Class & Aperture of Time.
Dance performance - Aperture of Time (excerpt) premiered in 2014 for Kymera Dance's season at The JCC in Manhattan using John Luther Adams Four Thousand Holes to tell the story of how some bonds erode without any reason. The atmosphere and dance is brought into focus by lighting designer Philip Trevino. The work is for three dancers split in two halves with one dancer acting as the through-line for the entire 33-minute work. Also, the work created over several months allowed me to develop a very specific movement language that paid attention to the scores peaks and valleys but not be overly sentimental in delivery.
Workshop - Pre-Election Voting Contemporary Class - This election year is stressful enough so before you cast your ballot to find out if we’ll still have a democracy, come and work through some of that stress with this all-encompassing mélange of a movement class. Stimulate, refresh, and “get yo life” before the pop off on November 3rd.
